Mali is a landlocked nation in West Africa, located southwest of Algeria. At 1,240,000 square kilometres, Mali is the world's 24th-largest country and is comparable in size to South Africa and Angola. The nation has considerable natural resources, with gold, uranium, phosphates, kaolinite, salt and limestone being most widely exploited.

Sadiola Hill Gold Mine is situated in the West of Mali 60 kilometres west of the city Kayes. The first contract was awarded to Aveng Moolmans in March 1996. Our client is AngloGold Ashanti in partnership with Iamgold and the Malian government.  Aveng Moolmans employs over 800 Malians and just less than 30 expatriates. Our company has established a lasting working relationship with the local community and we are proud to be making a difference in the lives of the Malian people. The level of training and development has also increased ensuring the continuous growth of people. Aveng Moolmans deliver mining services such as load and haul, drill and blast, grade control drilling and dewatering. We also assist our client with 3 monthly and yearly planning. Our first class maintenance service helps us successfully maintain our older fleet of machines in this remote region. Our logistical requirements remain a constant challenge but even in these dark and inconsistent areas we continue to grow stronger.
