We own and operate a diverse fleet of mining equipment to suit various operations and client requirements.
This fleet, which mainly consisted of 631 scrapers as the frontline tools in the past, has evolved to a truck and shovel configuration with rigid dump trucks ranging from 100 to 200 tons payload, loaded by excavators varying from 170 to 700 operating weight.
In-situ rock is dealt with using a fleet of blast hole drill rigs, capable of drilling varying diameters. Grade control drilling is executed using reverse circulation drill rigs. This primary mining equipment is supplemented by an ancillary fleet comprising of bulldozers, graders, front-end loaders, water carts, diesel bowsers, lighting plants, water pumps, service trucks, tyre handlers and personnel carriers.
Underground fleet includes drill rigs, LHD’s, utility vehicles and various support vehicles. As the underground mining space varies in envelope sizes we strive to use machines that the client will be able to make use of at contract completion. We make use of all major equipment suppliers with a history in the mining industry and have a very good relationship with them. We are constantly aware of new trends or machines available with new innovations available.
Winches and winders are made up of single and double drum kibble winders, stage winders and single drum winches. Kibble winders varies from 132kW single drum to 2.3NW double drum winders and stage winders 132kw double drum up to 780kW four drum system. With winches mainly used for pre-sink and ore pass rehabilitation we standardised on 37kW single drum system with control panels able to control up to 5 winches per panel.
To ensure maximum availability, utilisation and productivity, Moolmans has developed effective and accredited maintenance systems tailored to maximise equipment economic life in a sustainable, reliable and predictable manner. These systems have been developed using in-house experience, coupled with OEM interface and best practice techniques, obtained over more than 60 years of operation.
Our systems are central to our ISO accreditations, whose auditors are complimentary of our achievements. These systems include safety, preventative maintenance, lifecycle costing as well as a number of other measures.
